Prof Susannah Murphy presenting on the 5-HT4 receptor at SOBP 2025 in Toronto

Several members of PERL presented their work at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Biologocial Psychiatry (SOBP) in Toronto, Canada in April 2025. Susannah Murphy spoke and chaired a symposium on the 5-HT4 receptor and the exciting new work highlighting the potential of the receptor for the treatment of depression and cognition. Amy Gillespie also presented a poster on the 5-HT4 receptor, with results from our RESTAND study in which the effects of a 5-HT4 receptor agonist on emotiomal processing were tested in people with depression.  Michael Colwell also spoke, presenting his work on the cognitive effects of the serotonin releasing agent fenfluramine.  And there were a number of posters from our recent studies characterising the neuropsychological effects of ketamine, presented by Sara Costi and Chloe Wigg.  It was a fantastic meeting and great to see members of the lab out in force, presenting such an interesting range of new data.
